Action Reports will be signed electronically on site with the client

June 2010. The Show Window International (Germany) GmbH in Potsdam offers a wide range in the sectors of marketing, merchandising, and promotion. The overall service of Show Window comprises consulting, creativity, production, logistics, and decoration up to the final evaluation. In the case of an automation project for the processing of the action reports being set up when displaying chemist’s shop windows, Show Window was going for the use of signature solutions of signotec. Those action reports, or 'performance certificates', are signed on site with the client by means of a PenPad.

With this project, the question came up of how best to adapt the signotec solution to the individual requirements of Show Window’s ordering system. What’s more, the smooth integration of the solutions into the course of the project had to be ensured, both technically and with regard to dates. The starting point is that Show Window makes available all upcoming orders to their employees in a multi-page pdf document. Those are made available via email and saved in a local directory on the notebook.

Using the signotec bridge, this directory can now be administered without any problems. Due to tax details embedded beforehand, the pdf bridge can extract the multi-layered document into individual documents, i.e. orders. Other documents, for example, the individual documents' file names, are also transmitted. The document is saved under this name and, thus, can be identified at any time.

On-site with the client, the employee chooses his transaction from the pdf bridge’s user-friendly overview. The action report is opened directly as an individual pdf document and passed on to the powerful signotec software SignoSign so that the signature can be entered. The client’s personal signature is securely recorded and digitalized directly on the screen using the new LCD signature pad. The signature is automatically inserted into the document at the correct position. Apart from the signature’s picture, SignoSign saves essential features, such as, among others, the time curve, rhythm, and acceleration features, as encoded signs in the document.

Afterwards, the employee signs the report and returns it to the Show Window Centre. Here, the performance certificate is entered into the CRM System and processed. If need be, a copy can be printed out and sent to the client.
